Preparing for Worship

Numerous volunteers help assist in preperation of the worship bulletin, whether using the computer to help put together the bulletin, or helping print and fold the bulletin after it is completed by office staff.

Altar Guild
Prepare for the Sacrament of Holy Communion and Baptisms, take care of the paraments and decorate the church for Advent and Christmas. They also arrange the Easter and Christmas gardens. This team of individuals has fun while providing a very important part of our worship service.

 

Worship Assistants

Worship Assistants may serve on Sunday and special holidays.

Worship Steward
One person for each worship service coordinates all the people involved in leading worship for the 9 a.m. service.

Lectors
Read the first and second lessons during the traditional worship service at 9:00 a.m.

Greeters
Welcome worshippers before service (9 a.m. and 11 a.m.) Following the service, introduce visitors to congregation members when possible.

Ushers
Hand out bulletins in the narthex, help people to their seats, gather offering during the 9 a.m. service and special services such as Easter, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the Lent season.

Counters

Six financial counter teams work once a month on a Sunday and count our offering. If you would like to become a counter, please contact Sandy Gustafson, Grace's Parish Administrator at 345-4248.

Pew Pockets

During the week, "pew pockets" come in and clean and re-stock the pews for the upcoming Sunday. This takes twenty to thirty minutes of your time once a month.       

Video Technicians or Assistants
Tape the 9:00 a.m. worship service for Broadcast over CCTV. The traditional worship service is also taped and broadcast over the radio at 10:00 a.m. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, our service is live over the KTOE AM radio station.

Technicians may also help run audio, computers for powerpoint, etc.

Journey with Grace Worship Team
The worship team for the 11 a.m. contemporary service is a team of three to five individuals each Sunday who help hand out bulletins, gather offering and greet congregation and visitors before and after the service.

 

*Note: During the summer months (Memorial Day to Labor Day) service is at 10:00 a.m. and traditional and contemporary worship styles are every other week.
