Christ Servants Involved

CSI is a gathering of youth from Grace, Bethlehem, and other local churches; led by Bethlehem's Youth Director with help from John at Grace. The week consists of learning about and volunteering at Mankato's local service organizations and assisting congregation members with projects. Parents are invited to become chaperones for the week, offering transportation during the week and/or staying overnight with the students. Cost $25, includes meals for the week, a t-shirt and water bottle.
Boundary Waters Canoe Trip
Join us as we explore the beauty of God's creation together during the Summer on our trip to the Boundary Waters Coanoe Area in Northern, MN. We spend a week learning to rely on each other, sharing our faith, and enjoying the peaceful setting. Come see beautiful wildlife and waterfalls along the shore, catch the big one, or just listen to the breeze from a hammock. This trip is part of a 3 year rotation to provide our young people with a variety of ways to grow in faith. Our next trip to the BWCA is scheduled for the Summer of 2020
ELCA Youth Gathering
During the Summer of 2018 our youth joined 30,000 others in Houston, TX to celebrate how God's love changes everything. Every 3 years the youth of the ELCA gather to serve God and our neighbors as we engage in interactive worship, faith building exercises and fun! The next time we will attend the gathering will be the summer of 2020!
As part of our 3 year retreat opportunity rotation our youth in grades 7-12 during the 2015/2016 school year were engaged in mission as we went to Nashville, TN to serve the people of that great city through service and love of Jesus Christ. There was also time to explore the city and experience a different culture from that of Central Minnesota. Our next mission trip is in the planning stages now for summer of 2019. Contact Vicar John for more info!
Our High School Seniors are celebrated each May with a special worship service and presented with a home-made quilt. Seniors are welcome to apply for a Servanthood Award, which is awarded during their first semester of post-secondary education.
