Infants and Toddlers
During each baptism service, parents/guardians are presented a home-made quilt from our congregation, and Washed and Welcome: Living the Promises of Baptism containing activities and opportunities for practicing faith each day - during mealtime, playtime, milestones, bedtime and more - for infant to upper elementary children. If you would like to peruse the book, please visit the church office. If you are interested in baptism, please call the church office at 345-4248.
Faith Night Nursery Care
Children are welcome to visit the supervised nursery after worship on Wednesday evenings (6:20 p.m. - 7:40 p.m.) during the school year (September-May) for activities geared toward their age group. Care is provided so that parents may participate in the Adult Bible Study and Discussion series in the Fellowship Hall or teach older children in the Wednesday educational activities.
Children are always welcome to attend worship! Each Sunday during our 9:30 a.m. worship service, Pastor Olson “shows off his socks” and shares a children’s message before children are ushered out to our Children’s Church room for activities. Adult leaders share a story pertaining to that Sunday’s lectionary, and help create something for our children to take home. Children are returned to the sanctuary after the Pastor’s adult message.
The first and third Wednesdays of each month, we have a special class for children below Pre-School age and a family member to attend. This takes place during our Faith Night, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and includes a Bible story and theme for each class along with a simple craft like finger paints and songs or other activities that fit the theme and are appropriate for our youngest members. There is also free-play time which provides a great opportunity for parents of young children to get to know each other and enjoy adult conversation while thier children play together.
When children turn 4 years old, they are invited to join Wednesday evening activities to grow in Christian education, including participation in holiday programs and singing during worship services.
