Saved by Grace

Saved by Grace is our catechism class (leading to confirmation). For two school years, students in 7th and 8th grade learn about our community of faith (ELCA), attend events, volunteer in service, and learn more about Grace and the greater Mankato community.

The goals of this course are to deepen the faith of young persons bringing them to the point where they make public affirmation of their baptism on Confirmation Day (last Sunday in September); to make young people an integral part of every facet of the church's ministry; to strengthen ties between youth and God, youth and their parents, youth and the church; and to prepare our young people to be responsible stewards of faith, using the resources God has given them to serve in the community and in the church. Saved by Grace is led by Pastor Olson and is held on Wednesday evenings. Members of "SBG" can find their course schedule and other information at the bottom of this page.

Retreats have been held at Camp Omega in Waterville, MN. Service learning experiences in the past have included CSI:Mankato.

Christ Servants Involved (CSI) is held each August. With God We Can Make A Difference is the overall theme, as CSI is a service experience designed for those in 7th through 12th grade, (led by Bethlehem Lutheran Church Youth Director Lance Quick) and brings together youth from Grace, Bethlehem, Redeemer and Ephiphany Lutheran Churches.
